Women’s Golf Tied for Seventh After Two Rounds at Georgia State Invitational


JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – The Boston University women’s golf team sits tied for seventh after the first two rounds of the Georgia State Invitational, which got underway on Monday at Rivermont Golf Club.

The Terriers posted a 304 in the opening round, which was tied for seventh, before adding a 306 in round two to keep its position on the leaderboard.

Senior Christy Chen shot a 2-over 74 in both rounds on Monday and will enter Tuesday’s final round tied for 10th at plus-4. 

Playing as an individual, junior Annika Manjunath shot a 1-under 71 – a season best – in the opening round before posting a 7-over 79 in round two. She is tied for 16th at plus-6. 

Senior Victoria Takai sits tied for 39th after a 77-78–155 (+11) on Monday while sophomore Amy Han is a shot back, tied for 44th, at 156 after two rounds of 78. 

Senior Meiqi Gao opened with an 80 before closing the day with a 77 and is tied for 51st at plus-13. Sophomore Madison Takai started the day with a strong score of 74 and then carded an 80 in round two. She will enter Tuesday tied for 58th at plus-14.

Gao has a team-best five birdies through the first two rounds while Chen and Manjunath have four apiece.

The third and final round of the tournament will take place on Tuesday (March 25) beginning at 8:30 a.m.
