Tiger Woods’ son Charlie Woods fired a career-low round 65 on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) to surge into contention at the Team TaylorMade Invitational on Tuesday.
Charlie, 16, posted nine birdies and two bogeys in a round of 7-under 65 at Streamsong Black in Florida.
The round of 65 vaults Charlie up to T2 on 9-under par alongside Jessy Huebner and No.1-ranked Miles Russell, who is so good already that he received a couple of starts on the PGA Tour last season.
The trio trail 36-hole leader Luke Colton by one shot with 18 holes to play at the 2025 Team TaylorMade Invitational.
Charlie’s 7-under 65 marks the lowest individual round of his AJGA career.
His second round started on the 12th.

The final round of the Team TaylorMade Invitational begins at 7:33 a.m. local time on Wednesday with tee times off No. 1 and No. 12.
Charlie now has a golden chance to win his first individual AJGA title.
The Benjamin School junior is currently ranked 604th in the AJGA rankings based on four previous tournaments.
Charlie’s best finish was a T25 in his last start at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley in March.

Golf fans have taken to social media to congratulate Tiger Woods‘ son on his latest career achievement.
“Now we’re talking, let’s go Charlie,” wrote one excited Woods fan.
“Very impressive, such a talent,” commented another.
“Brilliant Charlie, well done,” tweeted one fan.
Another fan wrote: “Dad will be so proud.”
“Maturing nicely. Tiger is an okay mentor and teacher I guess,” tweeted a fan.
Charlie’s opening round of 2-under 70 was wildly entertaining, with the junior golfer making eight birdies, five bogeys, one triple bogey, three pars and an eagle.

Charlie Woods comes up short again in U.S. Open qualifying
Charlie recently attempted to qualify for the third major of the season, the U.S. Open at Oakmont.
But he unfortunately failed to come through local qualifying last month.
In his most recent attempt, Charlie participated in a qualifier at Wellington Golf Club in Florida.
He could only manage a 3-over par 75 and it left him seven shots shy of those that advanced to the next stage.
It was a marked improvement from 12 months ago, however, when he shot a 9-over 81 at the Legacy Golf & Tennis Club in Florida.
His father Tiger, who has three U.S. Open titles to his name among 15 career majors, never had to go through the first stage of local qualifying.
