Eagle putt for McKibbin!
Tom McKibbin has the chance to add an eagle to his birdie putt as he lines it up on the seventh. It’s roughly 18 feet for the Northern Irishman but he lands it brilliantly! He’s up to one under.
Hojgaard makes a birdie on the same whole to move into the outright lead on -2.

Westwood teeing off, Johnson misses par
Lee Westwood is the latest to tee off at Royal Portrush. He finished fourth here in 2019. Not a bad first shot, as he rifles it around 300 yards and should take the pin with his second shot…and he does! He’s set himself up nicely for the birdie shot.
Dustin Johnson has a very difficult par shot on the second and he misses it by a distance.

Mickelson makes outrageous par shot on third
Phil Mickelson finds himself stuck in the sand on the third, but he digs himself out brilliantly with a deft little chip that rolls left to keep him on one under. Arms raised in celebration from the American.

Darren Clarke given a huge reception on first tee
Quite magnificent from Darren Clarke on the first, a little bit of draw and he’s bang in the middle of the fairway.
How much would players pay for that tee ball today?
The Irishman plays with Davis Riley, with the talented American also splitting the fairway. While LIV player Lucas Herbert, who qualified via final qualifying, is the final player in the group and crushes it 325 yards into the short stuff. Three brilliant tee shots.
Leaderboard: -1: Hojgaard, N., Olesen, J.S.; E: Penge, MIckelson, Norgaard, Smith, J.
