Celtic’s midfield recruitment plans may be aided by developments in France, where Guingamp are reportedly ready to sell Kalidou Sidibe during the summer window.
The towering 6ft 7in midfielder has previously been linked with a move to Glasgow, with a price tag in the region of £1.7 million floated earlier this year.

Sidibe played a key role in Guingamp’s Ligue 2 campaign, missing only three matches as they narrowly missed out on promotion via the play-offs. With the Breton side now facing another season outside the top flight, they’re expected to cash in on several key players.
According to French outlet Foot National, Sidibe is one of five squad members the club hope to move on for a decent return.
The 26-year-old Sidibe, who is eligible to play for Mali at international level, is entering the final year of his contract.
That update may give any potential interested teams a timely boost in negotiations, with Guingamp potentially keen to avoid losing the player for nothing next summer.
Celtic’s interest in bolstering the middle of the park has been no secret, and the physical profile and experience of Sidibe could make him a good option as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen his squad for the new campaign.
