The Project Wide Advisory Committee will pay for the repair of a sinkhole at a golf course that was part of a recent amenity sale by the Developer.
The issue of the sinkhole at Hole #2 at the Loblolly Executive Golf Course in the Village of McClure was raised at Monday’s PWAC meeting by Supervisor Dale Martin, who represents Community Development District 12.
“Who will pay for that repair?” Martin asked.

A sale was closed on Feb. 13 in which the Developer sold off amenities in CDDs 12 and 13 for $258 million. The recreation facilities purchased using residents’ amenity money included five executive golf courses, 28 swimming pools, recreation centers, pitch and putt courses, softball fields and dog parks. Loblolly was one of the courses in the amenity sale.
During the PWAC meeting, Assistant District Manager Bruce Brown estimated the sinkhole repair would cost about $15,000. The sinkhole opened up due to the failure of a 36-inch plastic pipe. Repairs are scheduled to take place this week.
Another District official clarified on Tuesday that the repair will be paid for out of the PWAC fund and not with amenity money. The PWAC fund relies on residents’ maintenance assessments. The official also said it appears the repair will cost “much less than initially projected.”
