With sponsor assistance and creative financial thinking, the American Junior Golf Association is rolling back its prices.
According to executive director Stephen Hamblin, the reduction of membership, tournament entry and tournament qualifier fees is a concerted effort by the Braselton, Georgia-based enterprise to make competitive golf more affordable and more accessible.
“The goal for the AJGA is for the partners and sponsors to pay 70 percent and the juniors to pay 30 percent,” Hamblin said. “We are getting there. There is no way we would do it without our sponsors and partners and they are excited about it.”

With more than 10,000 members in all 50 U.S. states and 56 countries around the world, the AJGA emphasizes the growth and development of young people “who aspire to earn a college golf scholarship.”
During the course of the year, the AJGA operates as many as four tournaments a week in the spring and up to seven a week in the summer.
