PGA Championship 2025: How to watch, stream and view golf’s second major

The second major of the season begins on Thursday as the PGA Championship will kick off at Quail Hollow. Early forecasts call for rain as the week begins which could make for some soft conditions when things get going on Thursday.

As far as need-to-know information what is most important to understand is that Xander Schauffele is the defending champion, Justin Thomas won the event the last time it was held at Quail Hollow and that Rory McIlroy has won often at Quail Hollow… oh and Rory is also the reigning Players and Masters Champion.

Clearly there are a ton of storylines going on, I didn’t even mention Scottie Scheffler, so it stands to reason that you are going to want to watch all week long. Here is how you can do that.

How To Watch The 2025 PGA Championship

The first round of the tournament will begin on Thursday, May 15th. Both the first and second rounds can be viewed on ESPN with additional coverage taking place on ESPN+.

More than twelve hours of live play between ESPN+ (7 a.m. – noon ET) and ESPN (noon – 7 p.m.) on Thursday and Friday, May 15-16. Will include opening tee shots and final putts each day. First round coverage from 7 a.m. until noon will also be available on Disney+.

Alternate telecast ESPN BET at the PGA Championship from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Thursday and 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Friday, airing both days on ESPN2 and streaming on ESPN+.

Featured Group coverage exclusively on ESPN+ will have eight groups per day on Thursday and Friday (four in the morning and four in the afternoon) from 8 a.m. through the conclusion of play.

ESPN+ will stream Featured Holes coverage of Holes 16-17-18 at Quail Hollow from 7:45 a.m. through the conclusion of play.

ESPN+ (8-10am) and ESPN (10-1pm) will also carry coverage as the third and fourth rounds get going on Thursday and Friday, respectively.

As far as the traditional broadcast is concerned CBS will have the third and fourth rounds. You can watch on conventional CBS or Paramount+ and can do so from 1-7pm ET. Additionally, you can watch their Clubhouse Report every night of the tournament from 8-9pm ET on CBS Sports Network.

Let’s have a great week.
