PGA Tour pro Charley Hoffman hit a brutal shank on the par-3 17th during the second round of the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches.
Hoffman, 48, was 3-under for his round when he boarded the penultimate hole.
But unfortunately it was a case of the commentator’s curse as the American took aim with his tee shot.
“Hoffman has a clean card today,” said the announcer calling the action.
The four-time PGA Tour winner then proceeded to hit a cold shank OB.
“Oh no, oh no… that’s a straight shank,” cried the commentator.

Hoffman took a penalty stroke and then played his third from the drop zone before going on to make a double-bogey five.
To his credit he went and birdied the par-5 18th to card a round of 69 leaving him on 8-under par for the tournament.
That is currently five shots off the pace set by Jake Knapp on 13-under par heading into the weekend.
Knapp shot a stunning 59 on Thursday.
He became the 15th player to shoot a sub-60 round in PGA Tour history.
