SINGAPORE – Olympic champion Lydia Ko added a 23rd LPGA title to her glittering resume after winning the HSBC Women’s World Championship on March 2.
The world No. 3 shot a three-under 69 on the final day of the US$2.4 million (S$3.2 million) tournament at the Sentosa Golf Club’s Tanjong Course to sign for a 13-under 275 total, four strokes ahead of Thailand’s Jeeno Thitikul (70) and Japan’s Ayaka Furue (68).
This is the three-time Major winner’s first victory in 11 appearances in Singapore.
The 27-year-old builds on a stellar 2024 that saw her clinch three titles on the Tour, including the Women’s British Open that ended an eight-year Major drought.
She also claimed gold at the Paris Olympics, completing a trifecta of medals at the quadrennial event after winning a bronze and silver in previous editions.
