A company that owns and operates nearly four dozen golf and country clubs across the nation has just purchased a golf course in Ocala as part of a multi-property acquisition.
The Country Club of Ocala is one of three properties that was just acquired by Heritage Golf Group this week, according to a press release from the company. The golf course is located at 6823 SE 12th Circle in Ocala, just west of the Santos Trailhead.
Billed as the “fastest-growing owner and operator of golf and country clubs in the United States,” Heritage Golf Group also acquired two other properties in the state of Florida this week: The Plantation Golf & Country Club in Fort Myers and The Palencia Club in Saint Augustine.
“We wanted to ensure each of these clubs was positioned for long-term success, and after a meticulous search, we are excited to have selected Heritage Golf Group as the ideal fit,” said Carnace “Mg” Orender, the managing partner of the three properties.
Marion County property records show that the the site was purchased by Orender’s company, CCO Hospitality, LLC, “in lieu of foreclosure” in December 2016 for $2,239,814.61.
The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed by the organizations.

The Country Club of Ocala is a full-service, private golf club that features an 18-hole championship course that was designed by Steve Nugent.
In addition to the golf course, the country club property features seven tennis courts, pickleball, an Olympic-sized pool, and a full-service fitness center.
Records show that the 18-hole course sits on a nearly 155-acre site, offering golfers 7,007 yards from the back tees. The course has a United States Golf Association (USGA) rating of 73.80.
With the addition of the Country Club of Ocala, Heritage Golf Group now operates 46 golf clubs nationwide, including 12 in the state of Florida.
Outside of the aforementioned properties, other Floridian courses in the group’s portfolio include TPC Tampa Bay, Venetian Golf Club, and Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club, among others.
