Men’s Golf Swings Back into Action in North Carolina

Morehead, Ky. — After opening their Spring schedule in the Nevada desert and playing last week on the Oregon coast, the Morehead State men’s golf team gets back to action at the ECU Intercollegiate in Greenville, S.C., Monday and Tuesday.

Hosted by East Carolina, the tournament will be contested over the 6,831-yard, par 72 Brook Valley Country Club Course. “The golf course isn’t long, but it requires precision off the tee,” said Morehead State head coach Matthew Martin. “The greens should also pose a challenge; be we will work to be ready for them.” The tournament format will be 36 holes Monday and the final round Tuesday.

Morehead State will take on 16 other teams over the two-day event: Auburn, Barton College, Bellarmine, Central Florida, Columbia, Connecticut, Dartmouth, host East Carolina, Fairleigh Dickenson, Gardner-Webb, IU Indianapolis, Oakland, Old Dominion, Queens, Temple and West Georgia make up the field.

“We are excited to get back out and compete again in another strong field,” said Martin.

Martin will send out Nolan Piazza, Logan McCormick, Remy Stalcup, Gavin Augenstein and Logan Liles. Seamus Bogan will compete as an individual.

The ECU Intercollegiate is the third tournament of seven in the spring schedule which culminates with the Ohio Valley Conference Championship April 20-23 in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
