CCU senior Trey Crenshaw and freshman Drew Sykes each shot 5-over 77, junior Max Bengtsson carded a 6-over 78, and senior Trace McDonald fired 7-over 77. Sophomore Jack Lee finished at 9-over 81.
Florida sits in first place and owns a four-stroke lead over second-place Utah. The Gators shot 9-under, with the Utes carding a 5-under. South Florida is in third place at 1-over, with Colorado and Kansas State tied for fourth at 2-over.
Florida’s Luke Poulter and Kansas State’s Cooper Schultz are tied for the individual lead at 4-over with a foursome of players tied at 3-under in third place.
The second round will begin Tuesday, May 13, at 11 a.m. EDT with the Chanticleers teeing off at 12:50 p.m.
