Manchester United are working on a deal to try to sign RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.
The summer transfer window is underway and Manchester United have made two signings so far.
Matheus Cunha was the first signing from Wolves, but he was later joined by Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. That means Ruben Amorim has added two number-10s with an eye for goal to his team.
Now, the focus for Ineos is on signing a new striker because Rasmus Hojlund continued to struggle with just 10 goals across all competitions last term.
United have missed out on several strikers this summer, including Viktor Gyokores and Liam Delap, with both players opting to join other Premier League clubs.
The attention is now on targets Ollie Watkins and Benjamin Sesko.

Benjamin Sesko deal could block Liverpool’s pursuit of Alexander Isak
It has been a difficult summer for Newcastle, missing out on multiple targets.
They recently learned that star striker Alexander Isak wants to join Liverpool, but that pursuit may take a hit with Newcastle fearing they have lost out on Sesko as a replacement.
Newcastle remain in the race to sign Sesko but with United also in the race for his signature, it is understood that his preference is to move to Old Trafford.
This could significantly impact the decision Eddie Howe and Newcastle have to make on Isak’s future as he remains under contract at St. James’ Park.
The Swede is missing Newcastle’s Far East tour with a thigh injury, even though scans showed no damage. It sounds like he is trying to play his way into the shop window ahead of the new season.
Newcastle will want to find an alternative for Sesko before losing Isak to another Premier League club.
Anthony Elanga to the rescue for Newcastle
Newcastle signed former United academy graduate Anthony Elanga for £55 million earlier this summer.
Isak’s counterpart is Newcastle’s biggest addition of the summer and they will be hoping he can give them a lift after a difficult summer.
It remains to be seen if Elanga and Isak will be teammates next season, but United have certainly thrown a spanner in the works for multiple parties.
Liverpool’s pursuit of Isak has been made that bit more difficult.
