Laredo Women’s City Club to host Memorial Day golf tournament

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – The Women’s City Club will host its 21st Annual Juvencio de Anda Memorial Day Golf Tournament on May 24 at the Laredo Country Club. This event honors the late Carlos Alberto Rodriguez and is looking for sponsors to help raise funds for local charities.

Alma Narvaez, president of the Women’s City Club, said the tournament will have five different skill levels for golfers. “If you have a handicap, you can join,” said Elsa Miles, a tournament advisor.

The cost to play is $225 per person, with sponsorship levels from $2,500 to $3,500. There will be prizes for first, second, and third place in each group, as well as special prizes for hole-in-one shots, including a GMC Hummer EV, Toyota Tundra, Chevrolet Traverse, and a Ford Bronco Sport.

All funds raised will go to the Women’s City Club, which gives money to local nonprofits. Last year, the club raised over $239,000 for the community.

Those interested in joining the tournament can contact Nancy De Anda at (956) 763-9960 or Elsa Miles at (956) 251-1559 for more details.
