It has now projected the season based on both pre-season expectations, fixture difficulty and xG earned both for and against during the season.
The predictions also integrate team financial data and player values from Transfermarkt.
The team behind the supercomputer insist: “This additional layer of data provides a more nuanced understanding of team capabilities and potential performance variations.”

So, where are Town – still the favourites to win the league – predicted to finish?
Well, the supercomputer doesn’t think Kieran McKenna’s men will get automatic promotion this season – it believes current leaders Middlesbrough will stay on top and take the title, while Frank Lampard’s Coventry City will come second.

Town are tipped to finish on the same number as points as the Sky Blues, but lose out on goal difference to finish third.

They’re backed to be joined in the play-offs by Leicester City, Southampton and Birmingham City.
