Debbie Rock will take on the role for 2025, marking a significant milestone for the club.
Her appointment is seen as a step forward in the club’s commitment to inclusivity and recognising female leadership in golf.
Debbie’s journey with High Post began almost a decade ago when she joined the Women into Golf (WiGs) Programme, an initiative aimed at introducing more women to the sport.

Debbie has a military background, having been commissioned into the Women’s Royal Army Corps from Sandhurst.
She was part of only the second group of women to attend the military academy.
After her service, she settled in Salisbury and spent 25 years training school governors across Salisbury and Wiltshire.
Ms Rock said: “It is an absolute honour and a true privilege to be elected as club captain of High Post Golf Club for 2025.

“I am incredibly proud to take on this role. Being part of High Post is about more than just golf — it’s about friendship, shared values and a strong sense of community rooted in tradition and a vision for the future.
“Attending that very first WiGs session set me on a path I could never have imagined.
“To now serve not only as ladies captain but also as the first elected female club captain in the club’s history is truly humbling.
“This moment reflects what High Post stands for — inclusion, opportunity and a willingness to evolve while still honouring the foundations on which our club was built.”
High Post Golf Club continues to build on the success of the WiGs Programme, which has introduced dozens of women to golf and the club’s community.
The May 2025 WiGs group is currently full, but a waiting list is now open.
