Charlie Woods closed out his best season to date in impressive fashion on Saturday, carding a composed 4-under 68 to help the Benjamin School secure the Florida Class 1A State Championship at Mission Resort + Club’s El Campeon course.
The 16-year-old, serving as Benjamin’s No.1 seed, delivered the team’s standout round of the day to guide the Bucs to a five-shot victory.
Benjamin finished 4-under for the tournament, the only team to post a score under par on a demanding layout that tested every part of the players’ games.
Charlie closed things out on his own with a superb 4-under 68 – the lowest score of the final round.
The American’s round comprised of five birdies, including a confident closing birdie on the 18th, which earned an emotional fist pump reminiscent of his watching father and 15-time major champion Tiger Woods.
Charlie’s impressive closing round of 68 also saw him vault up the individual board to fourth place at 2-under for the championship, marking another milestone in what has been a breakthrough year on the junior circuit.

Charlie’s parents, Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren, were both present to watch their son’s performance, sharing proud smiles as their son completed one of the strongest rounds of his competitive season.
Despite their separation in 2010, Tiger and Elin continue to co-parent their children and have been regular supporters at Charlie’s events.

Tiger is currently dating Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr – and it’s been a busy couple of days for both of them watching their children in golf action.
Vanessa was two hours down the road watching her daughter Kai Trump, 18, make her LPGA debut at The Annika.
Although Kai finished bottom of the leaderboard on 18-over par, she performed extremely well on day two with a round of 75.
Kai holds a handicap of 0.5, and she was handed a sponsor exemption by tournament host and LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam, who is a big fan of Kai’s and her grandfather Donald Trump. the President of the United States.
Vanessa took to her social media to reveal her love and pride of her daughter after watching her live out a childhood dream.

But back to the top of the story, and Charlie’s latest victory marks his second state title with Benjamin School, following their Class 1A victory during his freshman year in 2023.
Charlie’s latest state championship triumph also adds to a growing list of achievements for him this season.
Earlier in March, Charlie claimed his first AJGA title at the Team TaylorMade Invitational.
Charlie also made headlines after a hole-in-one at famed TPC Sawgrass during the Junior Players Championship in the summer.

Just last week, Charlie earned AJGA First-Team All-American honours—an accolade his father also received as a junior.
Only 12 boys nationwide were selected for the first team.
Charlie now sits ninth in the AJGA rankings, buoyed by his early-season victory and several strong performances throughout the season.
Beyond his individual progress, he has played a central role in Benjamin’s continued team success, highlighted by this latest state title.
Woods is scheduled to graduate in 2027, and while his future pathway—college golf, elite amateur competition, or otherwise—remains undecided, his trajectory is clear.
Charlie’s game is developing rapidly, his results are strengthening, and he continues to make significant strides at both state and national levels.
