You sense that Celtic’s transfer window hasn’t really sparked into life yet.
Yes, there has been a lot of movement, especially players leaving the club, but Celtic fans are still waiting for that statement signing to arrive.
Many are hoping it will come in the form of a striker, as Brendan Rodgers is searching for that number nine following Kyogo Furuhashi’s departure in January.
There are occasions when Celtic and Rangers are in the market for the same player, and one name has been linked with both clubs during the 2025 summer transfer window.
Bojan Miovski is on Celtic and Rangers’ radar, after his fruitful spell at Aberdeen, but life has been difficult for the striker at Girona.
Charlie Mulgrew wouldn’t sign Rangers transfer target Bojan Miovski at Celtic
With Miovski seemingly available this summer, including Celtic and Rangers searching for more goals, a possible move to one part of Glasgow was shut down on Open Goal.
It was put to the panel of former Celtic players Charlie Mulgrew and Paul Slane if they would sign the 26-year-old for the Hoops, and both answered ‘no’.
But Slane admitted that Miovski was ‘outstanding’ for Aberdeen, and he thinks he would be a ‘brilliant signing’ for Rangers instead.
Si Ferry asks: “What about Miovski at Rangers, would that be a good signing?”
Slane responded: “A brilliant signing. He hasn’t played, I don’t think (at Girona). I just mean how good he was here (at Aberdeen). I would have taken Shankland first (over Miovski), but I think he would be a good signing for Rangers.”
Andy Halliday then asks: “Would you take Miovski at Celtic?”
Mulgrew responds: “No,” as Slane agreed: “No. I would have when he was at Aberdeen, but not now because he hasn’t played there (at his new club). But he was outstanding here.”

Remember, Miovski played for Aberdeen during a spell when they were really struggling, so his record looks even better in that regard.

From a domestic standpoint, he would score goals and perform better than what Celtic already have at their disposal.
But the supporters want something more proven, and a player who can cause problems on the European stage because that’s where Rodgers is looking to progress.
