Boys golf: Willmar in 7th after 1st day of tournament – West Central Tribune


BEMIDJI — Detroit Lakes leads the field and the Willmar boys golf team is in a tie for seventh with Moorhead following Round 1 of the North-South Invite on Friday.

The Lakers hold a 16-stroke lead with a 297 following the first round at Bemidji Town & Country Club. Bemidji is in second at 313 while Cloquet and Albany are both at 316. Willmar is at 323.

Willmar’s Aden Jacobson currently is among the top 5 golfers. The sophomore shot a three-over-par 75 and has a share of fourth place alongside Moorhead’s Weston Rosenfeldt.

Detroit Lakes’ Brock Burhans and Albany’s Blake Silbernick lead all golfers. Both carded two-under-par 70s in Round 1.

Round 2 resumes at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Headwaters Golf Club in Detroit Lakes.
