Aston Villa’s Tommi O’Reilly celebrates scoring for Crewe Alexandra where he’s enjoying a bright start to his season-long loan
Aston Villa winger Tommi O’Reilly is being tracked by League One duo Huddersfield and Bolton.
Villa academy product O’Reilly is currently on loan at League Two side Crewe Alexandra, where he has registered 10 assists this season.
He has produced a string of impressive performances that have caught the eye of clubs further up the pyramid.
Bolton and Huddersfield are reportedly in the market for a left-sided winger as they ponder their summer business, according to Alan Nixon.
Bolton currently have former Villa winger Corey Blackett-Taylor on loan from Derby County, but he is only at the club until the end of the season.
That would mean there is space for O’Reilly to fill while Huddersfield are also looking for attacking reinforcements.
O’Reilly’s spell at Crewe is the third loan move of his young career after stints with Shrewsbury Town and MK Dons last season.
He has six goals this season and is playing a starring role as the club look to secure a place in the League Two playoffs.
Speaking about the speed of his development at Alex earlier this season, he said it has been a bit of a shock.
“Yeah it has, I didn’t think I’d be starting this many games and playing this many minutes,” he told BBC Radio Stoke.
“I want it to continue for the rest of the season and get as many goals and assists as I can and see where that takes us.”
