Here are a couple of photos of Washtenaw Golf Club from April 1961.
I’ve noted several changes from the current configuration.

- On the eleventh, there is what appears to be a bunker to the left (right in the photo) of the green. The bunkers on the right (left in the photo), however, seem to be missing.
- On the sixteenth, the green has a horseshoe bunker around it. That would be something I’d love to see return, but I’m not sure it is feasible.
- There appears to be a bunker between the fifth and sixth fairways. I think that also would be neat, although stands of trees there now probably serve the same purpose of threatening slicers.
- On the sixth green, there are a couple of bunkers to the right (left in the photo) of the green. There’s a big depression there now, so the bunker makes sense.

Here’s another angle, also from April 1961.
Washtenaw began as a three hole course in 1899. You can read about its early years in this article: The Founding of Washtenaw Golf Club.
