Mission Belt Custom Belt Buckle Review
Mission Belt Custom Belt Buckle
Grade: A+
Teacher’s Comments: A brilliant idea for gifts, prizes, or corporate identity.
Pretty much every belt in my closet is a Mission Belt. A couple were sent for review; most I purchased on my own dime after that original 2014 Mission Belt Review.
What I like so much about Mission Belts is the ratcheting system. The buckle has a metal tab and lever on the back which lock into a plastic track embedded in the tail end of the belt. This allows the belt to be easily and discreetly adjusted in quarter inch increments. Just push the belt’s lever and either tighten or loosen the belt to a more comfortable position.
To the best of my knowledge, Mission Belt the originator of the now ubiquitous ratchet belt, having appeared on Shark Tank in season 4. I see lots of companies on Amazon selling knock-offs, and have even bought a couple. None were as good.
Given my enthusiasm for (and personal investment in) the belts, I was pleased when Mission Belt reached out to let me know about their latest offering: custom belt buckles. They even sent a custom GolfBlogger buckle to show off their chops.
The buckle looks great and the (I assume) laser engraving seems as though it should last a long time.

I’ve worn the Mission Belt on every round of golf over the last month, and the engraving on the buckle looks as good as new.
I don’t know what I expected. There’s no logical reason for an engraving to wear off. Playing rounds of golf isn’t going to wear out a buckle. Still, there was the chance that the engraving was something less than advertised.
If you have a couple of different Mission belts, the buckles are interchangeable (assuming they are the same width) for new looks.
Mission Belt suggests that it would be a great idea as a gift for golf tournaments. I agree. The custom belt buckles also would be great for corporations, weddings and other large gatherings where gifts either are desirable or expected.
It comes in a nice, gift-style box, as well.
As engravings go, it’s basically monotone, so take that into account when envisioning an image. I worked a bit in Photoshop to make the usual round green GolfBlogger.Com logo into something that looked passable in black and white.
Ely Castro, Mission Belt’s custom sales manager, says that with the purchase of a 140+ belts, the company will personally attend your tournament with no extra cost, to engage with golfers, personalize buckles on-site and to ensure a perfect fit and swap straps if needed.
“This Custom Belt Experience,” Castro said, “adds a unique, interactive element to your event, leaving players with a high-quality, custom tee gift they’ll actually use.”
