Boston Common Golf — the TGL team fronted by Rory McIlroy — has announced a new commercial partnership ahead of the 2026 season, linking up with Venu Holding Corporation as the franchise looks to sharpen its off-course strategy after a disappointing inaugural campaign.
The deal arrives as McIlroy, 36, prepares to wrap up his golden season at next week’s Australian Open, fresh off four wins in 2025, including his history-making career Grand Slam at The Masters.
While McIlroy’s own year has sparkled, Boston Common Golf’s debut TGL outing was far less convincing, with the McIlroy-led quartet missing the Playoffs alongside Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links.
The partnership with VENU — a company known for developing high-end, experience-driven entertainment venues — signals an effort to boost the team’s fan engagement operation ahead of the 2026 TGL season.
Boston Common Golf, owned by Fenway Sports Group, features McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott and Hideki Matsuyama.

The second TGL season will take place from December through March inside the tech-packed SoFi Center in two-hour matches blending virtual play with real-time shots.

VENU’s backing was showcased at the recent Boston Common Golf Celebrity Tee Party, where singer-songwriters and team investors Noah Kahan and Niall Horan took part in a fireside chat.
The event underlined the team’s strategy of using music and pop culture to broaden its reach — an area VENU specialises in through its portfolio of amphitheatres, music halls and hospitality venues across the United States.
“VENU has built an impressive reputation for creating dynamic, immersive entertainment experiences that bring people together,” said Boston Common Golf CEO Mark Lev.
“Their approach aligns perfectly with our belief that fan engagement extends beyond the competition itself. Music and hospitality are powerful ways to welcome new fans into the game and deepen their connection to it.”
VENU founder J.W. Roth echoed that sentiment, describing the team as a “next-generation organisation” and highlighting the opportunity to blend music, culture and sport in a way that appeals to younger viewers.
The tie-up comes as TGL prepares for its second season, with defending champions Atlanta Drive GC opening the new schedule against New York GC on Sunday 28 December.
For McIlroy and his teammates, the focus will be on making the postseason — and the hope is that a refreshed commercial and fan-facing presence will accompany an improved product on the virtual fairways.
