Daizen Maeda’s Celtic future comes into focus as the international break gets under way.
The winger/striker was reportedly on his way out of the club as Maeda thought a Celtic exit was happening during the summer transfer window.
Maeda has been vocal about his Celtic future in the past as he shared how he wants to leave the club to seek pastures new.
And as the January transfer window approaches, it appears that the Celtic striker could be on his way as sources close to Maeda share if there is still interest in the Japanese hero.

A report has emerged that Maeda could be set to leave Celtic in the January transfer window after people close to the player say there is still ‘strong interest’ in the Hoops hero
The report in the Daily Record states, “Daizen Maeda is poised for a January exit as Celtic brace themselves for a bidding war.
“Sources close to the Japanese player have confirmed there is still strong interest in the 28-year-old going into the new year and he could finally leave.”
Maeda has not looked himself since his summer transfer move fell through and now, it appears, that a Celtic exit is imminent over the next few months.

Maeda had a superb season for Celtic last season as he scored 33 goals in 51 appearances. The Celtic striker also provided 12 assists.
But since his failed Celtic exit, Maeda’s form has fallen off a cliff as the Japanese star looks a shadow of the player he was last season. Even his goal celebration in the win over Kilmarnock was seriously muted.
With just four goals and two assists in 17 appearances this season, the Celtic striker’s form is nowhere near what it was last season, as his future at the club hangs in the balance.
