There is no doubt that Celtic appear to be in trouble after the defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle but the performance
Celtic lost 3-1 to Hearts in a performance that was bereft of confidence, guile and guts after a second-half performance saw Brendan Rodgers’ side surrender three vital championship points.
Rodgers and his Celtic team are coming in for some strong criticism today as Hearts supporters and people connected to the club dream of winning the Scottish Premiership title.
However, despite the awful Hearts performance, Charlie Mulgrew has sent the Tynecastle club a defiant message even though they are eight points ahead of Celtic in the league.

Charlie Mulgrew’s verdict on Hearts mounting ‘a serious title challenge’ to Celtic
The former Celtic defender mocked Hearts fans midweek after he told them to enjoy their little league run while they can.
And now, after Hearts threw that back in his face, Mulgrew remains defiant with a dose of Celtic reality for the capital club.
Mulgrew said on Premier Sports, “Hearts have made a great start and it was a great result for them.
“Although it was against a Celtic reserve team, they took the game to Celtic and got a great result but it’s really early in the season.
“Is there a slight bit of worry in me? I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t, but there’s no evidence in my lifetime to suggest anyone outside Celtic and Rangers can mount a serious title challenge.
“I was born in 1986 and there has been nothing in that time.”
Brendan Rodgers’ promise to Celtic fans after Hearts defeat
Brendan Rodgers is under pressure at Celtic after suffering his second defeat in a row in the first ten games this season.
And as fans scratch their heads on how to get out of this mess, Celtic boss Rodgers made a promise on how he can make this better.
Rodgers said post-match, “I am working day and night to maximise the extent to which we can play the game.
“So that’s always something that you look at. We got it after Dundee, we get the performance, and it’ll be the same after this one here.
“So my motivation has never been higher to get this team playing to a level that we want to and I’ll continue with that.”
