Celtic confirm time change for important Premiership match

While pencilled in for the same date, though originally a 3:00 pm kick-off time, the Scottish champions will instead take on the Edinburgh side at 12:00 pm (midday) on October 26, just three days after their Europa League match against Sturm Graz on Matchday Three.

The upcoming visitors to Tynecastle confirmed this change via an update on their X page. Celtic posted: “We can confirm that our Premiership fixture against Hearts on Sunday, 26 October will kick off at 12:00 pm and will be shown live on Sky Sports.”

At the time of writing, both Celtic and Hearts are level on points at the top of the Scottish Premiership with 13, respectively, though Brendan Rodgers‘ side leads the way due to their goal difference being minimally better than Derek McInnes’.

Last weekend, Celtic’s greatest rivals, Rangers, were defeated 2-0 at home by Hearts, who have started the season strongly under the new management of McInnes, aided by investor Tony Bloom and his Jamestown Analytics.

A double from their captain, Lawrence Shankland, pulled the Gorgie side nine points clear of Rangers, who have struggled under Russell Martin since the former defender’s appointment in the summer.

Celtic caught up with their nearest rivals 24 hours later, leaving it late to defeat Kilmarnock 2-1 at Rugby Park, with new signing Kelechi Iheanacho scoring the winner on his debut from the penalty spot.
