The path to the U.S. Open continues on Moving Day at Muirfield Village as most of the game’s best fight it out in the third round of the 2025 Memorial Tournament. Ben Griffin is tied atop the leaderboard entering Round 3 for the second straight week; this time he is alongside Nick Taylor at 7 under, two shots clear of the field with some big hitters breathing down their necks.
Akshay Bhatia opens Saturday in solo 3rd with Scottie Scheffler, Sam Burns, Shane Lowry and Jordan Spieth all within four of the leaders. Given what Scheffler has been able to do on PGA Tour weekends over the last couple of years, he enters the third round as the heavy favorite despite having ground he needs to make up. Plenty of attention will be paid to Spieth as well given he is three years removed from his last victory. With a significant purse and momentum entering the year’s third major championship on the line, there is plenty to follow at this Jack Nicklaus-hosted signature event.
